German Book Prize 2026 names its six finalists
The shortlist for Germany's leading literary award has been announced, with the winner to be revealed next month in Frankfurt.

The German Book Prize (Deutscher Buchpreis) 2026 has unveiled the six novels still in contention for the award recognising the best German-language novel of the year, according to Livres Hebdo.
The winner will be announced on 5 October at the Kaisersaal of the Frankfurter Römer, in Frankfurt, a ceremony traditionally held on the eve of the Frankfurt Book Fair.
Livres Hebdo's report did not name the six shortlisted titles or their authors. Tomeling will follow up once that detail becomes available.
