Spain's Ministry of Culture has purchased the personal archive of the novelist Javier Marías for half a million euros, according to El País. The papers will enter the holdings of the Biblioteca Nacional de España.
The collection includes typescripts of his novels along with drafts and handwritten corrections, El País reports, as well as articles and correspondence by the writer.
Marías, one of the most widely translated Spanish novelists of his generation, died in 2022. El País did not give further detail on the size of the archive or a timeline for when it will be made available to researchers or the public.
